VH1 Save The Music Noteworthy benefit at William Hill Estate Winery

Posted on: November 6th, 2014 by Nia Mack No Comments

On September 18th, I produced VH1 Save The Music Foundation’s (VH1 STMF) Noteworthy benefit at William Hill Estate Winery (WHE) for the third year in a row. Each year VH1 STMF hosts this invite-only event to show their appreciation to WHE for their commitment to restoring music education in public schools. This was a monumental year because WHE’s total donation to the Foundation has reached over $1M dollars.

This is one of my favorite events because the time of year it takes place is divine! Peak season in Napa, CA is September. The grapes are on the vine, the weather is calm (not too warm, not too cool) and the wine (as it always is) is delicious! William Hill Estate Winery is such a perfect place to host a benefit because of the open space, the view and the detail they put into everything from decor to food and wine pairings.

My involvement was more focused on talent management and hosting an intimate performance at William Hill Estate Winery, where guests could mingle, enjoy great music and raise funds for a worthy cause. This year BUSH performed.  The acoustic set by Gavin Rossdale and Chris Trainor was perfect for the up close and personal setting.

If you ever get out to Napa, I suggest scheduling a tour to view the Winery and taste their fine wine. My first choice from their extensive portfolio is the cabernet sauvignon. If you get a chance to visit the Winery, please take some time to appreciate the view from sitting or standing under the pergola.

Additional event sponsors for the 2014 Noteworthy benefit beyond WHE included: Avnet, Raymond Weil, Alex and Ani as well as Copper River Bags.

P.S. I met Gavin Rossdale from BUSH and had to fend off numerous amount of women (and a few men) who appreciated his music and his good looks. Check out some of the footage and images, I was able to capture.

Happy Halloween from Quite U Inc

Posted on: October 31st, 2014 by Nia Mack No Comments

Wishing all of you a Happy and Safe Halloween!  Hoping you receive more “treats” then “tricks”! But if there are “tricks,” may they be DIY projects turning tulle into a Loofah Costume or green/purple balloons into Grapes!

GreenGrapes

Either way, enjoy the chocolate, candy corn and other goodies.  Check out the Village Halloween Parade if you are in NYC ! And make sure you live it up because we should live for today and not worry about tomorrow.  Halloween is the time to share your creativity with the world, put your “fun” hat on, party with friends and, if you have children or will be around any little ones at all, let them stay up late and experience the ultimate sugar rush tonight.

Again, Happy Halloween and enjoy (it’s okay to make fun of) my throwback Urkel costume from 4 or 5 years ago.  (I just found those glasses in a desk drawer a few weeks ago – eek!)

Restoration Hardware Gallery Opening on Melrose

Posted on: October 26th, 2014 by Nia Mack No Comments

IMG_1912I had the pleasure of attending the Restoration Hardware gallery opening on Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles last Wednesday. Restoration Hardware is one of my favorite luxury brands for the home. Their oversized furniture and classic looks continue to inspire me when considering event decor for clients.

It was an honor to attend and observe the unique look and feel of the new gallery. Its span was 4-stories high and that evening it welcomed over 2,000 guests with champagne, wine, small bites and a sneak peak into Restoration Hardware’s new music label, RH Music.  I hung out mostly on the rooftop deck and admired its centerpiece decor ~ long, wooden, communal coffee tables accentuated by myriads of tea light candles leading to an angelic statue that could be seen from Melrose Ave.

IMG_1914The LA crowd is so different from NYC so I enjoyed watching the scene and being inspired by the styles, conversations and designs throughout the night.  I also thoroughly enjoyed the live performances by RH Music artists.  Their current roster includes Larkin Poe and Edei. I must say that Edei’s set had me dancing, smiling and reminiscing about one of my favorite albums of all time “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill”.

Her stage presence was exciting! She flirted with the crowd and her band in a manner that captured the attention and affection of attending guests. She used her music as a platform to get everyone to move to the beat and allow themselves to be swept away by the melodies.

Kauff McGuire & Margolis Corporate Gathering

Posted on: October 22nd, 2014 by Nia Mack No Comments

For the BlogOn a historical day for NYC and the world (September 11), I coordinated the Kauff, McGuire & Margolis (KMM) corporate gathering in a gorgeous brownstone in Brooklyn, NY,  owned by one of the KMM partners . The firm’s portfolio of clients is impressive and offers services to companies like Viacom Media Networks, who is my employer (which happened to be a coincidence), BBC Worldwide Americas, AMC Networks, Barnes & Nobles, Conde Nast, Fisher-Price and many more.

This was my first time serving as the event planner for their annual event and I enjoyed it from start to finish. My favorite part of this event was the venue. The home of the partner was modern with contemporary furniture and clean accents.

Brooklyn brownstones are so unique. Each has its own personality and with that I selected furniture options for my client that reflected the organic look and feel of the home as well as the firm’s signature color “slate”  blue.

We ended up not using all the furniture suggested because of budget but the opportunities to jazz up the space in the future are extensive because of the classic architecture of the home.

The Kauff McGuire & Margolis corporate gathering included such a fun group of lawyers and I am hoping to coordinate their holiday party this December.  I have some great ideas on how to incorporate the partners’ and employees’ knack for music!

Check out and follow the Pinterest Board I created for the client based on decor that I believe accentuated the already amazing venue for the KMM corporate gathering!

Catherine Alves and Jennifer Ithier Wedding

Posted on: September 23rd, 2014 by Nia Mack 2 Comments

Exactly one month ago, on August 23rd Catherine “Cat” Alves and Jennifer “Chico” Ithier exchanged vows and started their lives together as a married couple at CityView Racquet Club in Long Island City, NY.  It was my honor to be their wedding coordinator.  Working with them for a year allowed me to learn more about the people they were and, even better, the couple they are. I could see from the beginning their love, respect and understanding of one another.

My favorite part of the wedding was their creative gene and the way their vision came to fruition.  From the gorgeous homemade bamboo altar created by Cat’s maid of honor and sister Stephanie, to the chalkboard table signs and simple centerpieces, the Ithier/Alves wedding could not have been more beautiful. The overall theme of the event was chalkboard with the colors of emerald green and a hybrid of cobalt and royal blues.  The hints of chalkboard complimented the wooden and white look of the rooftop reception under the New York City skyline.

Although rain clouds threatened our initial plans the entire day, the evening turned out exactly as we planned and more importantly the wedding guests could not stop raving about their evening, which was amplified by the really good music (I mean really, really good music) by DJ Uneeq. I wish the best to Cat and Chico and their entire family! I am so happy for you and truly grateful that you allowed me the opportunity to share in your wedding journey!

VH1 Save The Music Honors 2014

Posted on: July 30th, 2014 by Nia Mack No Comments

VH1 Save The Music Honors 2014 brought the fun feel of a mini music festival to the Hamptons in boho chic style. Large, bright marimekko fabrics draped cabanas while the same fabrics, in a variety of colors, spread eagle across the back lawn of an over 17,000 square feet estate. Pillows, lanterns, battery-operated white candles and the warmest and most stylish blankets you could ever find, served as accessories for the festival decor.

Yet the stylish, laid-back look of VH1 Save The Music Honors was not the end of it – performances by a middle school jazz band, Grace A. Dunn from Trenton, NJ, Republic Records recording artist James Bay and singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson graced the stage while guests danced and enjoyed an evening of music, food and charity.

Honorees for the night included Nathan A. Cohen, the music teacher from Grace A. Dunn Middle School, Singer/Songwriter/Producer Linda Perry and the Head of Global Marketing for Beats Music, Bozoma Saint John. The event also honored Charlie Walk, the Executive Vice President of Republic Records.

Not only was the decor a sight to see but VH1 Save The Music Honors 2014 raised over $325,000 for music education in public schools. Not bad for a comeback in the Hamptons!
